Seawolves Rugby has been crowned champions of the Empire Rugby Conference after defeating Binghamton University in the semifinals and St. Bonaventure University in the championship on April 14. Sophmore PJ Abelein was named MVP of the Empire Conference.
The Seawolves now head to the 2012 Emirates Airline USA Rugby Men’s Division I-AA College Playoffs at Dartmouth College’s Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse in New Hampshire where they will face Northeastern University on Saturday, April 28, at 3 pm.
“It is an exciting opportunity for our student-athlete rugby players to once again represent Stony Brook University at the national level,” said Coach Dan Yarusso. “Our guys are focused and ready to compete.”
