Thursday, June 26th at 10:00 pm on WLIW (Channel 21 on Cablevision, FiOS and Time Warner Cable in the New York area).
Long Island residents don't need to fly to the Sundance or Cannes Film Festivals to experience a fabulous selection of independent films. The 19th Annual Stony Brook Film Festival at Stony Brook University’s Staller Center has a highly-anticipated line-up. Alan Inkles, preeminent curator and director of the 19th Annual Stony Brook Film Festival, is joined by Long Island filmmaker and Karate Kid star Ralph Macchio to talk about what makes a great independent film and how the films chosen at the annual festival stand out. Show will preview some of the festival entries, including Macchio’s film, “Across Grace Alley” featuring his “Dancing with the Stars” partner, Karina Smirnoff.
